Craftwork cards Fab Fabrics style card

I decided to used the style of card as in the Fab Fabrics booklet but used papers from My Besties CD's and Crafters Companion BeBunni CD's as this card is for a friends birthday who loves pinks and blues.

The base card is a 5" x 5" fabric look card from Craftwork Cards

I cut the shape out using my Brother Scan & Cut ensuring that all the pieces were the same size. I then  used a coloured fibre tip pen in pink and blue to draw faux stitching around the edges.

After I had glued the petals on the card making sure that the centre of the flower was not to close to the edge allowing a feature for the middle. the flower in the centre is a flower I draw and loaded onto my Brother Scan & Cut which I then drew faux stitching around the edge and then placed on a cirle of Crafters Companion Centura Pearl White card.

In the top right hand corner I put a butterfly firstly using a Tonic die to cut out the dark satin finished card.
The smaller butterfly was cut out of Crafters Companion Centura Pearl cardstock with a Tattered Lace butterfly boarder die.

The greeting was created using a Tonic die with Crafters Companion Centura Pearl. It was then trimmed off the outside of the die cut.

The greeting was then coloured in using a Crafters Companion Spectrum Noir Alcohol marker PL5.

I then glued the sentiment onto the card trying to make sure the bottom was straight and the top is not.

With Love Celtic Card

I made this card as soon as the dies from Tonic arrived.

I thought the dies would suit a monochrome colour scheme so I used Crafters Companion Centura Pearl and Black cardstock.

I used a C5 card and then folded the flap in half to make this card.

On the inside of the card I used the Patchwork Perfection Square Die using the markings on the die to get the pattern properly lined up.

I used the strip die on the front half of the card and then used little black gems in the middle of all the flowers down the centre of the die cut.

For the sentiment I used the outer line of the strip die to shape the piece for the sentiment on. I then used the sentiment die from the same set.

Birdhouse

With this birdhouse I decided that I wanted to make something a little different. I used the large birdhouse from Craftwork Cards.

I used Crafters Companion Kraft Card to cover the birdhouse. I ran the panels that I had cut through a Crafters Companion Textures Wood Grain Embossing Folder and the  used some Distress Ink - Vintage Photo to bring the embossing out.

I cut the roofing panels using Brother Scan & Cut scalloped edges. I then used the same Distress Ink on the edges.

I glued them on the roof and added a trim on the edges at the front and back of the roof and then put a piece of Card Candi coloured with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Marker EB7 to finish off the roof..

The owl was cut out of scrap pieces of card using a cutting file that I purchased as an SVG file for my Brother Scan & Cut.

Pot of flowers

My Dad was admitted to hospital on Saturday. I went to visit him on Monday and wanted to do something that would make him smile. As you aren't allowed flowers in hospitals anymore and he can't have chocolates I thought I would make him a pot of flowers.

I used a Craftwork Cards plant pot card blank to start of my card. I cut out different size flowers using my Brother Scan & Cut with papers printed from Crafters Companion C.D. BeBunni Floral.

I then put faux stitching around the edges of all the flowers.

I stamped, embossed and die cut the leaves from a Heartfelt Creations set to add to the flowers.

I twisted some green coated wire and the attached five of the flowers to the wire and then used a glue gun to attach the wire to the top of the plant pot before covering the ends with more flowers.

I added 2 butterflies cut using a Tonic Ricoco Die to the card to add more interest.

I used Craftwork Cards Card Candi in the center of the larger flowers and in the smaller flowers I used silver backed clear gems.

Hunkydory Feathers and Fluff

I was going through my Hunkydory Kits to make a spring/summer card and chose these toppers

I only used the card in the kit and no toppers. I cut the bottom boarder from one piece of card and made a stepper card using the boarder for the sides and one of the margins from the topper sheet.

I cut the card with the birds on to the right size for the middle of the stepper card.

I cut some lanterns to match the ones in the picture out of shrink plastic using a Crafters Companion Chinese Lanterns die set.

I coloured in the shrink plastic with Pro Marker Alcohol Pens to go with the colour scheme before shrinking the plastic.

I threaded the lanterns onto some thread and then put flowers along the thread to balance the thread to stop it twisting.

The flowers were cut using a Tattered Lace Die out of Centura Pearl card. I then put a clear crystal gem in the center of the flowers.

I cut some flowers out of Centura Pearl using Tonic Entwined Trellis Radiant Roselily Die.

I then used some Nuvo Metallic Bright Gold Crystal Drops in the centers.

Hunkydory Smudge & Mitten (and Rascal too)

I have just bought an extra pack of Crafters Companion Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and had been looking for something to use them with straight away.

I remembered that this kit had some Colour Me toppers and thought they would be perfect.

I used the Brown Grey selection for Smudge, the Tan selection for Mitten and the Ice Grey selection for Rascal.

The blanket was the True Blue selection, the cake icing was the Hydrangea Blue selection while the parcels were the Lavender selection.

The main part of the topper and sentiment I used Pinflair Gentle Blends - Mediterranean Blue.

I matted the topper and part of the backing paper in black to make them stand out.

I then used paper from the Luxury Paper Pad for the back ground and then added 3 flowers in the bottom left hand side of the topper cut on my Brother Scan & Cut.

I then used purple silver backed gems in the center of the flowers.

Hunkydory door hanger

I was going through my makes and found this door hanger I made with Hunkydory Butterfly Sorbet Kit.

I cut 4 plain white card door hangers and then stuck them together. I then cut two pieces of Adorable Scorable embossed card. I purchased the card from Hunkydory already embossed.

I covered the other side with a contrasting colour Adorable Scorable Card.

I then cut 6 flowers out with my Brother Scan 'n' Cut, 3 of each colour and 6 circles to put in the middle of the flowers again 3 of each colour.

I shaped the flowers and then put 3 apricot flowers on the yellow side  with 3 yellow circle centres.

Then I put the 3 yellow flowers on the apricot side with apricot centres.

I also cut out some leaves I embossed from a Heartfelt Creations stamp and die.

I then decorated the main parts of the door hangers with butterflies from the Butterfly Sorbet collection and acetate butterflies from the wind chime kit.

I put the acetate butterflies on top of the card butterflies to add more dimension to them.

I added different butterflies to each side to make differences between them.

Craftwork Cards Potting Shed 3

This is the last card from this collection I have made so far.

I used one of the plant pot cards that came with the kit, I put a piece of cream card through a Crafters Companion Dry Stone Wall Embossing folder.

I then coloured the edges with Distress Ink - Vintage Photo.

I then cut out the Woodpecker and plant pots out of one of the toppers in the collection and a trowel and fork from a piece of backing paper

I added a sentiment from the collection that I distressed the edges with a pair of scissors and some Pinflair Gentle Blends - Dark Khaki and a couple of Card Candi embellishments.

I will make more from this kit and will blog them when I have.

Craftwork Card Potting Shed Collection 2

With this card I made from the Potting Shed collection I used the plant pot cards that came with it.

I ran the front of the card through a Crafters Companion Textures Embossing folder. I then coloured the edges of the card with Distress Ink - Vintage Photo.

I cut out one of the elements from one of the toppers from the set.

I then cut out the trowel and fork from a piece of the backing paper as there were a trowel and fork already in the picture but I wanted them slightly bigger.

On the topper there were various plants that were in a sepia colour which I wanted to make a feature out of the do cut some Tattered lace flowers out of cream card and then coloured the edges of the flower with Distress Inks - Vintage Photo. The leaves were also from a Tattered Lace die. I then just popped a few pearl gems in the middle of the flowers.

I then finished the card off with some Card Candi from the collection which I coloured the edges with Distress Ink - Vintage Photo and one of the sentiments.

Craftwork cards Potting Shed Collection

I loved making this card out of the Potting Shed collection

The card came with the kit. I used a piece of Kraft card put through one of  Crafters Companion Textures Embossing folder for the sole of the Wellington Boot.

I added some colour to the Kraft card using Distress Ink - Vintage Photo

I used a piece of paper from the paper pack cut it to size for the main part of the boot. I then used Debbie Moore Print Magic - Crystal to coat the piece of paper and embossed it 3 times to give it the shine that you get on a Wellington boot.

One I had stuck down the paper I used a piece of rolled Raffia to the join between the sole and the main piece of the boot.

I then put some grosgrain ribbon to the top of the boot and then layered some cream lace over the top of the ribbon.

I then used a sentiment from the kit tide onto the lace with some more of the rolled Raffia then I put a flower over the lace hole to secure the sentiment. The flower was cut from a Tattered Lace Die and then Cosmic Shimmer PVA gold.

Craftwork cards Venetian Collection 4

This is the last card I have made for the moment using this kit.

Again using a 5" x 7" card I put some Distress Ink - Peacock feathers around the edges of the backing paper before matting it on gold foiled card.

I also cut a circle of gold foiled card to mat the topper from the same kit.

I coloured the feathers using Distress Ink Peacock feathers.

The flower I used was from the kit and again I coloured the edges of the flower with Distress Ink - Peacock Feathers and then put a piece of card candi from the kit in the centre.

A couple of card candi in the opposite corner and another in the top left hand corner using the candi from the kit.

Craftwork Cards Venetian Collection 3

As promised here is another card made from the Craftwork cards Venetian Collection.

This 5" x 7" card was started by matting some of the backing paper with gold foiled card.

Little bit of the feather on the backing paper I highlighted with Debbie Moore print magic Crystal Embossing Powder instead of glitter as I don't like the feeling of glitter and it doesn't come off.

I also used Debbie Moore Print magic gold on the card candi to add another bit of sparkle.

I put a feather behind the topper to add to the whole feather theme of this card.

I coloured the card from white using Distress Ink - Peacock Feathers applied with cut and dry foam.

Craftwork Cards Venetian Collection 2

As I said on my last post I had more to follow and while I have got my laptop open I thought I would post another card from the same collection.

This card is a 5" x 7" card using some of the backing paper from the collection matted on some gold foiled card.

I cut a circle of gold foiled card to mat the sentiment on the card and a stripe of different backing paper to go along the bottom of the card.

The flower was from the kit that the rest of the collection was from. I coloured the edges of the large flower with Distress Ink - Peacock Feathers.
The swirls behind the flower were made from thin strips of paper wrapped around my craft knife to give the shape. In the centre of the flower is a card candi from the collection but I covered the candi with glossy accents.

The three pieces of card candi I put along the separate strip of paper also covered with glossy accents.

There will be more to follow from this collection tomorrow....
